Giri orders of dasa namis are
1.Giri [Peak of mountain]
2.Puri ( a town)
3.Bharathi (the Goddess of speech)
4.Ban or Van (the forest)
5.Tirtha (A shrine or pilgrimage)
6.Parvat (a mountain)
7.Sagar (the ocean)
8.Saraswati (the Goddess of learning)
9.Aashram (Hermitage)
10.Aranya (forest)

    The explanation of the Dashnami caste (Giri, Puri, Bharati, Ban, Parbat, Sagar, Tirtha, Ashram, Aaranya and Saraswati) here seems logical and meaningful. It has to be known more. Thank You all!

    Very helpful post. Thanks a lot... however, wondering if the NATH sect of Sanyasins are part of the Das nami sects. Nath Sect to which the Gorakhnath monastery belongs. Could you please enlighten?
